“About 610,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year–that’s 1 in every 4 deaths”. ~ (CDC, 2019)


Heart disease is term that consists of several types of conditions that affects the blood flow of the heart. When the heart decreases in blood flow is can cause a heart attack. Some of the common conditions related to having a heart attack are Coronary Artery Disease, heart failure, rheumatic heart disease, and even atherosclerosis.


National Risk Factors Include: * Age *Family History *High blood pressure * High Cholesterol * Diabetes * Obesity *Tobacco Use * Too Much Alcohol *Physical Inactivity* High Sodium Diets


How to Prevent or Delay: *Limit Alcohol Use * Eat a nutrient dense diet * Maintain a healthy weight* Control your blood pressure *Check your cholesterol *Manage your diabetes
