“By 2060, the number of Alzheimer’s disease cases is predicted to rise to an estimated 14 million people, with minority populations being affected the most” ~ (CDC, 2019)

Alzheimer’s disease in the most common type of dementia. Dementia is a not a specific disease, but it is a general term for the impaired ability to remember, think, or make decisions that interferes with doing daily activities. It is caused by damage to brain cells and it interferes with the brain cell ability to communicate with each other. People with dementia have significantly impaired problems with their short term memory.
National Risk Factors Include: *Increased age * Family history * Genetics (hereditary) *Head injury * Heart-head connection
How to Prevent or Delay: *Eating a nutrient-rich diet * Being socially active *Avoiding tobacco *Avoiding excessive use of alcohol* Exercising both mind & body * Reducing cardiovascular risk factors
