November is Diabetes Awareness Month

Diabetes is a serious disease. If diabetes is left untreated, it can lead to serious complications such as heart disease and even death. Many symptoms include, feeling thirsty, frequent urination, extreme fatigue, feeling very hungry after eating a meal, blurry vision, slow to heal cuts and bruises, weight loss (Type 1), tingling, pain, or numbness in the hands and feet (Type 2).

There are several ways that diabetes can be diagnosed. Getting tested in a health care setting is a good way to find out your blood glucose levels. There is also a Diabetes Risk Assessment test that can help you better understand if you are at risk or not.
