Music is Key!

I learned to fall in love with music again after having my twins and it has helped me along my life's journey. I remember growing up listening to music all the time. I was a part of the church choir, enjoyed being on the praise dance team, and even was determined (mostly in the shower) to become a great singer. Music was so embedded into my system that every time music began to play, I would find myself rocking to the beat (standalone dance parties all the time...lol). As my life continued to evolve ,I found myself being out of touch with the music that I had held so dear to my heart (being a mother of 5 children it's kind of hard to find time for anything... sometimes...lol). After delivering my twins, one was taken to intensive care to be further evaluated for a rare condition, absence of the corpus callosum, (I call it her uniqueness) that she had developed while she was in my womb. When I was able to visit her, I noticed that she was being treated with love and music therapy as they continued to monitor her progress. Her smile could light up any room as her heart seemed to be filled with joy. From that moment on I knew that music would regain its surface and become a harmonizing factor into our lives.
Here are some ways we enjoy music on a daily basis (click on the links to enjoy the music):
Morning time regimen
Study/ Homework Time
Car rides (we have plenty of those)
Research shows that music can enhance language learning in children, which helps them with identity formation, stress management, singing, multiple intelligences, and enhancing academic skills (1) (Click over to our YouTube channel to hear the music we all enjoy…. Especially the kiddos!)
So, crank up that music and get the party started!
